第49章 Interacting with Korean family--Kelly(2)

Holland is well known for its unique and beautiful mill as well.Large rotating mill could be seen everywhere in the small town.Every building centered downtown varied in styles of European.Old church, historical mill and ancient remains of Europe were well distributed there. The veterans had already put their chairs along the side of thestreet to occupy the best area in order to see the parade in the after-noon.As the time went on,the street became more and more crowded and noisy. To tell the truth,I"ve never experienced that scene since I came to America.Downtown was always quiet to me.Everything went inorder and regularity.I guess that was probably the American culture-pure and simple.Every special activity would attract thousands of peo-ple even a flower show.We visited those Dutch stores along the street. All of them looked sweet and warm.Like those European furniture, each of them gave me an intense sense of home and root.

The most impressive thing for me could be the Pella garden. The garden was charged, but we were still willing to pay ﹩ 18 in total to get in.There were many typical and very traditional houses open to visitors. They seemed totally different from those of East.Every pattern of deco-rations was a reflection of the rich and unique culture of Europe. Some of their furniture and decorations looked really original and primeval. Many ancient tools, technology and the aspects of their old society were still remained. The horses they rode in the past and the respective wag-on of each traditional family were shown in the exhibit. They seemed so luxurious. For me,another attractive thing was their old industry. It was so amazing and intelligent that Europeans created such a prospered era by using the ancient tools so radically, efficiently and wisely. In the houses were very old millstones and mechanic wooden gear, something crucial to certain local productions. The trip potentially enhanced my understandings of the technological evolution of ancient Europe.

As a girl.I was especially attacted by the costumes of European style. The Dutch fashion show could possibly be the most popular part of the tulips day.Colorful searf and pure long fabric dresses looked beautiful.Their shoes were so funny.Traditional shoes in Holland were made up of wood. They had a very sharp point ahead.Local residents put on their traditioflal and ancient suits on that day--they looked sochool.

At noon, for the first time,I tasted corn dog and sausage of Roma-nian styles. It was a lot of people in the snack bar.We have waited fora quarter to get all our food. The lines are so long and those baking things took so much time.Anyway,we took a good rest and prepared to see the parade afaer ward.

We spotted a good place where is a corner of the street to see the parade. The parade would take a turn at the corner and in that case,I could have enough time to catch the picture.

The parade was delayed for half an hour. However, the fact provedit to be good and worth waiting.Families of Dutch went out together and showed their special family dances. Some of them drove in the gorgeous car.I especially liked their wagon bands with so many professional mu-sicians.Their music was delight and beautiful.Their large parade cars were the most welcorned. They were decorated with colorful tulips and pretty ornaments. Some came up with big strong horses, and people on-side waved their hands friendly to the massive crowd. We politely re-sponded with our hands waving back and nodding for appreciation. Some of the girls on parade cars threw the candies and food into the crowd, everyone tried to catch it.The whole crowd was enthusiastic and excited. It was one of the greatest and most unforgettable scenes I"ve ever Seen.

The whole parade lasted for one hour in total.Soon after the pa-rade,we got on our way back. The sunshine warmly shone on my face.My heart was filled with full elation. The day delightfully passed.

I would never forget it.
