英文导读

The University of Würzburg (Julius-Maximilians-Universit.t Würzburg) is a university in Würzburg, Germany, founded in 1402. After a short-lived first foundation in 1402, Julius-Maximilians University was permanently endowed and established in 1582 on the initiative of Prince Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn. The University of Würzburg remains clearly and strongly committed to the Four Pillars: the Humanities, the Law and Economics, Life Sciences, Natural Science and Technology. Many new study programs have been added to the list of the classic four: Nanostructure Technology, Technology of Functional Materials, Biomedicine, Modern China, etc. Fourteen Nobel Laureates-among them physicists Wilhelm C. R.ntgen and Klaus von Klitzing, as well as chemist Hartmut Michel and physician Harald zur Hausen—worked here at some stage of their careers. As early as in the 1990s, the University began founding cross-faculty research centers, opening up new subjects for investigation and research and innovative study programs. Creating research centers has provided enormous thrust and has pushed the University into the top-level group of German academic institutions.

System:The university has ten facilities including: Faculty of Catholic Theology; Faculty of Law; Faculty of Medicine (Human Medicine, Dentistry, and Biomedicine); Faculty of Arts I(History, Modern Languages, Culture, and Geography); Faculty of Arts II: (Philosophy, Psychology, Educational, and Social Sciences; Faculty of Biology; Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy; Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science); Faculty of Physics and Astronomy; Faculty of Economics. City show: Würzburg is a city in the region of Franconia, Northern Bavaria, Germany. The Marienberg Fortress is the castle on a hill across the Old Main Bridge, overlooking the whole town area as well as the surrounding hills. Notable artists who lived in Würzburg include poet Walther von der Vogelweide (12th and 13th centuries), philosopher Albertus Magnus and painter Mathias Grünewald. Among Würzburg"s many notable churches are the K.ppele, a small Baroque/Rococo chapel by Balthasar Neumann, perched on a hill facing the fortress, and the Dom (Würzburg Cathedral). Würzburg is home of the oldest Pizzeria in Germany. Nick di Camillo opened his restaurant named “Bier- und Speisewirtschaft Capri” on 24 March 1952.
