一是利用联盟的专家资源,成立3D打印研究院,做好人才教育培训,制订专业人才教育培训规划和标准;

二是搭建3D打印创新服务平台,建设3D打印创新服务中心,发挥3D打印在线的行业资讯、电子商务和个性化定制服务平台的功能,推动3D打印技术与传统产业结合,促进3D打印技术的广泛应用;

三是发起3D打印产业基金,扶持科研单位和会员企业做好研发和创新工作;

四是继续办好世界3D打印技术产业大会暨世界3D打印技术博览会、国际3D打印创意大赛、3D打印时尚秀等品牌活动,促进3D打印国际间的交流与对话;

Preface

What is 3D printing technology? How will 3D printing drive the Third Industrial Revolution? What is the relationship between 3D printing and traditional manufacturing? How far behind is China in this respect compared with the west? And what effect will this technology have on traditional manufacturing?

In order toanswer the above questions, I put myself in deep thinking on 3D printing technology.

Although there are a lot of science books and science fiction about 3D printing technology in bookstores, most of the content is the same. It is unnecessary to write similar books for the sake of writing or publish similar readings simply for the sake of publishing. What we should do is to analyze and understand this pioneering technology objectively and correctly. At the same time, we should create a favorable atmosphere for development to help 3D printing technology grow sustainably.

It is our responsibility to care about, think about, and bring about this new technology. I am not an expert in the area of 3D printing, but I am quite an expert in perceiving its advantages over traditional manufacturing and understanding how to promote it. I believe that this is what I can do and it is also what I like to do. Experts such as Professor Yan Yongnian (Tsinghua University), Professor Shi Yusheng (Huazhong University of Science and Technology), Professor Wang Huaming (Beihang University), as well as other renowned experts and professors in the same field from Katholieke Universiteit Leuvenand (Belgium), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (U.S.A.), et al, gave me unanimous approval: “It is a wonder that you initiated and established the China 3D Printing Technology Industry Alliance within one year, organized World 3D Printing Technology Industry Conference, initiated and established World 3D Printing Technology Industry Alliance, and raised the banner of 3D printing in the world. In the past decades, we desired to do so, but failed. However, you succeeded, and in such a wonderful way. Besides, you pinpoint where the bottleneck is. You make a great contribution to the development of 3D printing industry.” (typically you do not put words into a “quote” like this without a specific source reference as to who said it and when) I think this comment is the encouragement and expectation from the respected predecessors. Thanks to their trust and support, my perseverance and bravery to devote myself to 3D industrialization grows.

It is true that we have done much promotion work and made some progress, but, as I have mentioned above, 3D technology itself needs to be perfected and still lacks a mature business system. Nevertheless, we are lucky to welcome the age of 3D and become its participants.
